Parent / Child Aquatics Classes |
|

We strongly encourage parents to get their children involved in swim lessons as soon as possible. The earlier the introduction to an underwater environment with parents near at hand, the more naturally and happily the child develops aquatic skills and bonds with his/her parents. Swimming becomes a positive experience that contributes to their safety and their development.

Parent/Child Aquatics classes are 30-minute classes designed for children ages 6 months - 36 months and their parents.
The primary objectives are:
|
- Promote enjoyable experiences between parent and child in the water.
- Encourage children to experience, explore, and test the aquatic environment by responding with body movements and emotions, with the assistance and encouragement of their parents. Working toward this goal promotes children’s awareness, confidence, and physical abilities.
- Increase the parent’s abilities to help their children enjoy the water and to use it as a medium for developing coordination, strength, fitness, and physical abilities.
- Enhance parents with the skill in providing the activities and experiences that will lead to the lifelong fitness and health for their children.
- Increase parent’s knowledge of water safety and ability to provide for the safety of their children in and around the water.
Parent/Child Class Age Breakdowns:
- Shrimp (6-8 months old)
- Kipper (9-12 months old)
- Inia (13-18 months old)
- Perch (19-36 months old)
